In films, TV shows, and other media, the Amazons of Greek mythology are always shown dressed as Greek soldiers.
However, in the actual Greek myths, these mythical female warriors were said to dress like Persians.
Perhaps this was a metaphor for the Greco-Persian Wars in the 400s B.C.E.?
Hence, in this representation of an Amazon, she is wearing traditional Persian clothes.
"Amazon" is often said to mean "no breast" since the Amazons were said to remove one of their...you know whats in order to draw bows more easily.
Though this a controversial theory, I nevertheless gave my Amazon a bow and arrows, since that was their favorite weapon.
On a side note, the Amazons may have been based on the Scythian tribes in modern-day Ukraine.
