OCEANIA
Tales from the South Pacific

No relation to the totalitarian superstate in George Orwell's 1984 that includes the Anglo-Celtic Isles, America, Australoteaora, and Southern Africa

Despite Occidental colonialist influence (particularly missionary activity) starting in the 1500s and kicking off in the 1800s, the myths and cultures of the South Seas live on.

Micronesia
Mariana Islands, Marshall Islands, Caroline Islands, Gilbert Islands

The Caroline Islands include the countries of Palau and the F.S. of Micronesia.
The Gilbert Islands are the main portion of the country of Kiribati.

Melanesia
Papua New Guinea and the islands near it

Cannibalism occurs in myths throughout the South Pacific.
In these myths, people who eat people appear as monsters or enemies the hero must defeat or escape.
In the myth of To Kabinana and To Karvuvu, cannibalism originated from the idiotic moon god.

Polynesia
New Zealand, Hawaii, Easter Island, and all the islands in between

Moana is the traditional Polynesian name for Oceania.

That means a certain Disney princess is literally named Oceania!

R.I.P. Maui
Time Immemorial--Who Knows How Long Ago

Aotearoa
Maori New Zealand

Hawaii
The Kanaka Maoli

Rapa Nui
Easter Island
(You know, that place with the giant stone heads who call people "dumb-dumb" and request gum-gum)
