Elder gods of the Vedic scriptures
Prominent in the Rig-Veda, these deities are part of a centuries-old oral tradition dating back to the Proto-Sanskrit arrival around 1500 B.C.E.

Unfortunately, once the Hindu pantheon was established around 600 B.C.E., these gods were demoted to lesser status and were overshadowed by other gods such as Vishnu, Shiva, and Devi.
