Elder gods of the Vedic scriptures

Latter Hindu gods and their stories

All the Hindu gods are one in Brahman.

All the Hindu goddesses are united in Devi.

In Hindu thought, the history of the world comes in four ages ,or yugas:

Satya Yuga

1,728,000 years

Treta Yuga
1,296,000 years

Dvapara Yuga
846,000 years

Kali Yuga
432,000 years

The Kali Yuga, the current age (which started in 3102 Before the Christian Era) is filled with evil and sin, and will eventually die off.
I bet this detail was first written down by some Ancient Indian boomer.

Don't be alarmed; the Kali Yuga will not end until 428899 Christian Era.

The Life of Brahma
According to Hindu cosmology, a day in the life of Brahma is about 9 billion mortal years.

There are 360 Brahma days in a Brahma year, which makes for a total of about 3 trillion mortal years
.

The lifespan of Brahma is 100 Brahma years, which multiplies to about 311 trillion mortal ye
ars!
That is how long the universe will last.

One Brahma hour is about 360 million mortal years.
One Brahma minute is about 6 million mortal years.
One Brahma second is about 100,000 mortal years.

The Story of Buddha

The Four Noble Truths of the Buddhist faith
Life is suffering
Suffering comes from desire
To end suffering, end desire

Freedom from suffering can be achieving by following...

The Noble Eightfold Path
Proper understanding (of suffering, desire, and the finiteness of life)
Proper intention (not sullied with emotions or desire)
Proper speech (no lies, hype, or insults)
Proper action (no abuse, stealing, or sexual misconduct)
Proper work (a job that does not harm yourself or anyone else)
Proper effort (strive to improve with moderation)
Proper meditation (focused awareness to contemplate reality)
Proper contemplation (inner peace)

In Buddhism, Buddha is not a deity.
As Buddhism spread, however, it absorbed deities from pre-existing faiths.

India remains predominantly Hindu to this day.
