Aluluei and Cross-Dressing Thor

Writer: jamespederson5jamespederson5

I'm back!!

After two whole weeks of traveling to see family, I am proud to present this cartoon I just made about the origins of traveling.

(remarkably, after crossing time boundaries and getting zero sleep last night)

It depicts the Micronesian tale of Aluluei (the god of sailing) and his children, and how they taught the art of sailing to the people of the Caroline Islands.

(Palau and the F.S. Micronesia)

Since the trip also included a weekend wedding getaway, I have also included a bonus in this post.

It is a story from Norse mythology about how Thor dressed in girls' clothes to crash a giant's wedding in order to get his hammer back.

The panel where he throws off his girly disguise and does his usual thunder god rage was inspired by the Nintendo game Bowser's Fury, in which Bowser occasionally awakens as a savage monster who creates literal chaos in the world you explore in that game.

If anyone you know is traveling or just got back from travel, I hope you all have a won...der..., ...

Wow, two new cartoons on very little sleep! I‘m glad you were able to finish those before you drifted off at the end!

That was a cool story about the god of sailing that I hadn’t heard before!
